Basic Work Zone Traffic
Control and Flagger Training
The Federal Highway Administration and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has now revised
its Policy and Procedures for the Safety and Mobility of Traffic Through Work Zones.  As of
October 12, 2008 ALL flaggers must show proof of certification and must carry a certification
card while performing flagging duties at work zones. We now offer the Work Zone Traffic
Control and Flagger certification course!  



Course Description
Life-Savers is providing WZTC Employee Qualification Program for Basic Work Zone and
Flagging.  The purpose of the training program is to assist highway contractors, consultants,
utility companies, and governmental workers in complying with the Cabinet's Policy and
Procedures.
 This course will consist of lecture, interactive sessions, written qualification
examination and hands-on exercises.


Flagger Training Course Description: Provides protection to project workers and to the
motoring public by providing clear directions to traffic seeking passage through a work area.  
Performs flagging duties in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.  



Course Length
5 hours

Flagger Qualification Card:

Participants that successfully pass the written examination and practical skills examination will
receive a flagger qualification card good for a period of two-years.


Course Cost:

$45 per participant up to 10 employees

$35.00 per participant for 11 or more employees
